The basics: Atrist, sadist, dominant, IT guy, animator, blacksmith, nerd. First, the kink stuff: I'm more than a little bit of a sadist. I like slow, drawn out sensation play; impact play; bondage; orgasm denial, and that little shiver of pure joy that runs up my spine every time someone sexy calls me "Sir." I enjoy situations which dehumanize my submissive partner. Masks, body mods, speech restrictions, cages, you name it. I've always wanted to try kidnapping, personally. My problem is, once you get me thinking about kink, I'll come up with a list of twenty involved scenarios within an hour. The nice part of this is that I make my own toys, so if I need a steel cage, or perhaps an auction block with said cage built in, it's probably just a weekend away. Ok, vanilla me: Then I'm originally from Alabama. The family of bohemian liberal intellectuals didn't really go over that well, so when I was in middle school we all moved out here to NM. I spent the rest of my childhood on two acres in the woods, with a forge in the yard, a full size loom in the garage, a lamp-working setup, a darkroom, a small pile of cameras, two kilns (one for glass fusing, the other for ceramics) and pretty much whatever else you could want for making things. I still occasionally go use all the goodies on weekends, they've only multiplied. I went to art school, how could I not? Sadly, the family business hasn't been financially kind to me, so these days I am an IT guy/chem student with a lot of hobbies. Somewhere in there, my dad and grandfather taught me blacksmithing. I hated it as a kid, not that I have any idea why. I joined ABANA and SWABA just so I would be eligible for membership in something called "The Forge Council," several somethings, actually. I'm still in the Alabama Forge Council, and it makes me feel like a redneck dwarf. Now I collect certifications like some people collect stamps. It started with boosting my artistic credentials with design/animation software certifications; now I'm a journeyman plumber, master smith, certified welder, and a bunch of other, minor stuff. To be clear, I never plan on actually using most of this, but getting them has been consistently fun. I'm back in school, pursuing my lifelong love of SCIENCE! It's time consuming, and more than a bit stressful, but so rewarding. I'm a geek, but not really in a "massive consumer of pop-culture" sort of way. I read more than I watch TV, dissect movies more often than I just sit back and enjoy them (too many film classes will do that to you,) and, while I'm a big cheerleader for video games as an emerging art form, I don't play a whole lot of them. I enjoy getting outside. New Mexico really is a pretty place.
Notes: I like to discuss books, art, science, film, futurism and history. I like to make things, go on walks through parks and the national forest, and visit gallery openings for more than the free wine (which is uniformly terrible, anyway.) I've tried making it work with women who share my interest in the BDSM lifestyle, but not these other things. The phrase "train wreck" leaps to mind when thinking of those relationships. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate physical beauty and willing submission; but what good does it do to own someone, or in fact love someone, beautiful and willing, whom you don't even like. \rant My right hand to god, I will get around to uploading a picture soon.
Another random thought: why is "never married" included in so many profiles? Clearly, if you are still married, that is worth mentioning to potential partners (as well as your spouse, one would hope.) Is a past divorce really a deal-breaker for anyone, these days?
Two things: Re: a picture: One is forthcoming, but I'm both vain and pressed for time. Probably in the next week or so. Also, I never noticed it the last time I was here, but there really is a shocking amount and variety of racism, homophobia, islamophobia, and general hatred on display in people's profiles these days. Has the fetish community changed since last I was looking, or am I just a little less oblivious this time?
