I also work in a professional career field that doesn't pay much (e.g. non-profit work) so a) discretion is appreciated and b) if you saw the amount of student loans I had to take out to pay for graduate school (and compared it to the aforementioned low pay), it becomes likely I wouldn't make a good financial slave.
