I'm going to wax philosophical for a moment...
There have been a lot of people that use the term "self titled_fill in the blank" as an insult or slur in this community. I believe this to be an improper usage of the term.
Be a person Dom/me, Master, Mistress,submissive, slave or switch, that title or descriptor is always self-titled. None of those "titles" can be ascribed to you by another. They are words meant to describe to other people the way that you approach a relationship and your life. There is no higher authority that grants you this description, so therefore the only power that can name you by one of these things is yourself. Now whether you mesh with someone's personal take on this lifestyle is a different story entirely. Take things for what they are and not what you believe they should be. Do not project your views of how someone should or should not be on to another unless they give you the gift of doing so. You give yourself the title, no matter what anyone might say and in doing so, take a responsibility to make an honest, effort-filled attempt to live up to it. If you are unable to do this or the situation doesn't allow for it, then you need to step back and reevaluate things. We are a small society and Top or bottom, mistakes will be made, we are human after all.
So the next time you want to throw around "self-titled" as an insult or slur, remember, we are all self-titled...

After quite awhile on this site,I notice something that strikes me not only as humourous, but also somewhat saddening. It appears that more and more women on this site make a point that men should not contact them. Some say in their profiles that if they are interested,they will contact the men. It seems that a few bad apples have ruined things for all the Doms that are on this site for legitimate reasons. Perhaps this trend will change, but I believe so long as their are men out there that regard subs as nothing more than glorified toys instead of the gift they are, this trend will continue. That's my rant for today.

Well, apparently it's been almost exactly one year since I've written in this thing, So I suppose I should place pen to paper yet again. It was an interesting year to say the least, although not necessarily a pleasant one. Perhaps the new year will prove more pleasing and enjoyable. Perhaps this year will also be the one to find me that elusive sub that truly compliments me. Here's to hope and continuing the search.
