During the days, the song birds are busy singing (loudly), and at night it rains a lot and the tin roof makes you sleep even better, and the coqui frogs sing LOUDLY all night... they can be annoying till you get used to them, then it's sleepy time. I'd suggest you youtube "Hawaiian Coqui Frogs"... and see for yourself. We sleep with the windows open with the ceiling fan on, so they can be loud...
The temps year round average 65-80 days and 50-65 nights, and it rains approx 120 inches a year. Rains a lot... Go 10 miles over the top of the mtn, and it hardly ever rains... go figure... gotta love the Puna District...
We have NO snakes, NO poisonous spiders or predator animals... We do have owls and hawks, which prey on baby chics, geico's, kittens, etc...

The summer days are very long, average 19 hours of sunlight, and the remaining 5 hours is a dusky light. The arctic flowers and roses are amazing, insects come back to life, a mother moose might birth her new calf in your yard, the Eagles are so amazing and majestic, some birds migrate back home to give birth, the salmon fills the streams and rivers with their bright colors, watching the bears fish for their meals, watching the Northern Lights dance across the skies with a blanket of snow on the ground, and the list goes on forever...
We're on well water and not city chlorinated and chemical treated water, and we're installing solar power this summer, but right now we're partially on the grid.
During the summers, day temps average 65-75, nights 50-55 with 19 hours of sunlight. Winter temps average zero degrees (feels like 30), average 8-10 hours of daylight. Not like the myths in the lower 48 where people believe it says dark 24 hours a day. Prudoe Bay in the Arctic Circle stays dark 24 hours a day for 2 months during the winter.
And we are 4-2-0 friendly... it actually grows wild in certain areas. We call it the 2 toke Maui Wowie (Hawaii). In Alaska we have some KGB or Thunder Fuck... again, 2 tokes...
(83' Yacht)
We own a 83' Yacht, and we spend 4-6 months aboard cruising the Caribbean, and over to Belize where we own a huge fruit farm and nice home. We spend se veral months of the year there.
We spend a lot of time exploring the deserted islands, snorkeling, fishing, taking in the local cultures, exploring the local cuisine, renting a jeep and go exploring, etc... We love to have fun and enjoy life.
