In 2012, I was publicly outed as kinky in an attempt to gain power over me, and had my life misrepresented to bring harm to me and my family. It didn't work. I'm still here, I'm still me, and I have the strength to be authentic and pursue my own non-traditional and non-vanilla life choices.

I am a single parent, and I can only be close with people who understand that a parent’s first commitment in life is to the lives of those whom they brought into and raise in this world. I am focusing on the needs of my family during challenging times, and attempting to make positive choices in the care of my loved ones.

I also don't go in for the golden rule. "Do unto others as you would have done unto you" invites us to project our perspective and preferences onto others. That invites flawed thinking and eliminates empathy by not considering the other's viewpoint (a good example of this is religious missionary doctrine - where believers gladly treat unbelievers as the faithful prefer).

I identify with and am striving towards the approach "Do unto others as they would have done unto them". This effectively means you are considering what you might know about the other person's perspective from the start.
