submissive *d'un certain age* seeks a dominant male.

i'm not looking for an 'ltr.' nor am i looking for the opportunity become the CollarMe equivalent of Margaret Sullavan in 'Back Street.'

(i should probably explain that reference. Sullavan's character, in the 2nd of 3 adaptations of Edna Ferber's novel, pined and suffered in the background while her beloved spent time with his Official Mate. no thanks! i may be a submissive, but i ain't stupid!)

what i'm looking for is a chance to develop my bottoming skills. file this, um, quest under 'gotta use it while i've still got it to use,' please.

to whom should i turn? a good question, that.

When's the last time somebody mentioned Proust around these parts, rather than (say) John Norman?

The mantra these days:

"When Does The Goddam Sex Begin?"

when i shared that Ruth Etting comment with a friend, he offered a nice little riposte:

"Better Ruth Etting than Gogi Grant."

Today, out of nowhere, a Master from another site wrote me to say that "You are somewhat the 'Ruth Etting' of our generation."

Ruth Etting and BDSM?  That's a new one on me.  What can one do, in response to such a comment, except shrug and grin and be grateful for the sheer oddness of it?

... (Ruth Etting, for those who don't recognize the name, was the singer with a troubled love life portrayed by Doris Day in "Love Me Or Leave Me.")

The abuse i seek occupies pretty much the same portion of my imagination as the famed creature Big Foot --

i've heard tell of both, but neither phenomenon seems much in evidence.

"Physical beauty is passing. A transitory possession. But beauty of the mind and richness of the spirit and tenderness of the heart -- and I have all of those things! -- aren't taken away, but grow! Increase with the years!"

-- from the collected works of Tennessee Williams
