Not sure exactly what was going on, but apparently my browser was being very weird. It seems I have clicked "Add to Favorites" on several profiles but wound up also blocking/hiding some of those same profiles. Even stranger, I later discovered I had unintentionally sent friend invites to many of them. I apologize on behalf of my browser to anyone impacted by this odd behavior.
