When we hear someone refer to ?vanilla? sex, invariably the picture that comes to mind is one of vaginal intercourse in the missionary position. Not only is missionary intercourse the quintessential image of vanilla sex, but it is also the quintessential image of procreation. This is not a coincidence.

?

An examination of reproductive dynamics demonstrates that the feminine reproductive role is innately submissive. In order to fulfill her reproductive role, she must be willingly or forcibly penetrated, culminating in the discharge of reproductive fluids flooding her vagina. This semen is then sucked up even further inside of her reproductive tract, into the fallopian tubes, where, if there is a healthy egg present, conception is likely to occur. The feminine reproductive role is one of reception; whereas, the masculine reproductive role is one of projection. I believe this inherent projective/receptive reproductive dynamic is where the D/s sexual dynamic finds its roots.

Clearly, sexual expression is not limited to acts of procreation. Sexual expression for the purpose of recreation is more common, and arguably more enjoyable. This is why so many are attempting to shed the shackles of their ?vanilla? sex life; they want to more fully express their sexuality in a recreational manner, instead of being limited to the prototypical procreational display. Oral sex and anal sex are the two most obvious examples of recreational sexual expression. These acts of sexual expression provide no procreational value at all.

?

This raises some interesting questions. First of all, it is important to note that the penis serves as the reproductive organ in males, in addition to being his primary erogenous zone, as well as his outlet for liquid digestive waste. Women are much different. Her vagina is her reproductive organ. It is only her second or third erogenous zone, behind the clitoris and about on par with the anus and rectum; it has also been separated from her liquid digestive waste outlet. If we accept that a man penetrating a woman's vagina with his sex/waste organ and discharging reproductive fluid into her reproductive tract is a valid procreational expression of dominant masculine sexuality, and we accept that a man penetrating a woman's anus with his sex/waste organ and discharging reproductive fluid into her digestive system, is a valid recreational expression of dominant masculine sexuality, then it follows that a man penetrating a woman with his sex/waste organ and discharging digestive waste fluid into her reproductive system is also a valid recreational expression of dominant masculine sexuality. And if discharging liquid digestive waste, from his primary erogenous zone, into his female partner is a valid expression of his dominant masculine sexuality, then excreting solid digestive waste, from his secondary erogenous zone, into his female partner is also a valid expression of his dominant masculine sexuality; and, likewise, receiving his solid digestive waste into her body is a valid expression of her submissive feminine sexuality.
