I am a 38 year old man living in the Washington, D.C., area who has become keenly interested in rope bondage and shibari. This began a few years ago when a woman I was with allowed me to practice a few simple ties and rigs, and it has since become something of an obsession. I am otherwise an educated, white collar professional. I am safe, sane, responsible, and respectful. I am especially respectful when working with rope. The main profile picture is me, while the others obviously are not.

There is something very sensual about the rope, both the way it feels in my hands and the aesthetics of . . . the symmetry of the knots, the contrast against skin, and the pure simplicity of it. It is also endlessly variable and challenging. On the Ds side of the equation, it is also a fantastic way to transfer control, to create vulnerability and submission.

I dont want to overstate my experience. As I said, I have experimented with a former partner, but she has left the area. Im at a point where I cant self teach without a willing subject or model. I dont practice suspension. Not because Im not interested, but because Im self aware enough to know I dont have the knowledge or the facility for that. At least, not at the present. All of the ties and positions shown in the pictures, however, are all within my competence.

So . . . I am looking for a local woman who would be interested in exploring rope bondage with me. Outside the kink, I need her to be smart and capable and able to communicate about what works for her and what her limits are. These are always acknowledged and observed. And, in fact, this does not necessarily have to be sexual. My first priority is to practice working with rope. Whether there is any intimate activity and how much is entirely up to us to decide, case by case and scene by scene. And, frankly, if youre only interested in the bondage, I can respect that.

I am not looking for any particular type, but I think for this to be safe you need to be reasonably fit, limber, and healthy. I think that means height-weight proportionate and not too creaky in the joints. But its not about age, its about physical fitness.

How does this progress? I hope we can exchange a few message here, then move to email, then meet in a public place for coffee or a drink, and then and only then, if we feel comfortable going further, well take the next step.

I am sure I am leaving out valuable and pertinent ination, but as I sit here writing this, I cant for the life of me think what it is! That means you will have to write and ask me questions. I will respond as quickly as I can.

M.
