The participants may be of any gender or sexual orientation. The M/s relationship refers to the relationship between the individuals involved, and does not necessarily require any specific acts, sexual or otherwise, though sexual activity is usually an aspect of the relationship. A slave could also be a masochist or bottom, but this is not always the case. Term 'slave' is associated with ownership rights of Mistress to Their slave's body, as property. A slave is a specific type of submissive. Their relationship may only consist of how the service oriented sub/slave can be of use to the Dominant and more of the service oriented sub/slave's energies are focused on enhancing the Domme's life in some way. If you took a service oriented sub/slave's duties away, they would feel neglected and empty. Service oriented sub/slaves need the satisfaction of being useful for Domme.
