3/25/2018 5:53:09 PM: 'I have been hunted with bells and banners in my time...Men knew that the only way to hunt me was to make the chase so wondrous that I would come near to see it.'The Last Unicorn, Peter Beagle
3/25/2018 8:38:06 AM: Het women (cis or trans) or gay men (cis or trans) or nb folk in this position, if you find yourselves trying to be appealing to cishet men, just remember to ask yourself why you are exerting so much time and energy to impress a group of people who:a) are a dwindling portion of the human populationb) are known to have bad tastec) don't have (or strive to have) an accurate understanding of your human experienced) tend to operate without having to care at all about their own actions or other people e) have opinions known to be problematic and/or irrelevant and assign value to intangible, meaningless things (like their ideas of sex and beauty)f) are the least impressive group of people on the planet (are YOU impressed by them?)
3/24/2018 7:39:03 PM: I'm (ir)rationally upset with Richard Adams. All famous men in literature, really, the way women are written by men is just so deeply pitiful. Male fantasy is sad garbage.
3/7/2018 7:01:42 PM: I really wish that screenwriters/filmmakers would stop actually featuring rape scenes in their films. I understand if it is an element of the story, particularly in crime and drama genres, if it is implied, or mentioned by characters, as it is a compelling topic which elicits a visceral reaction from viewers. However, when it is actually acted out it is a.) beyond traumatic, especially for victims and b.) nearly indistinguishable from the content on any given home page on porn sites, since the norm for generic porn has become violence and degradation (largely of women and minorities), and seeing rape in films basically just makes rape look like porn and could create a fetish for it among viewers, particularly males and young people
2/26/2018 4:27:08 PM: It is far easier to dismiss the men who harm me/women/other people as being sociopaths than it is to accept them as male humans functioning normally under the restrictions and allowances imposed upon/allowed to them by society. Their actions are still inexcusable, but the harsh truth of them being normal is easily erased. In fact, demonstrating monstrous selfishness, in ways mild and extreme, has become entirely normal to most with privilege of any kind. Or perhaps all persons with privilege operate within some depth of sociopathy?
