My latest food adventure was making Sourdough.
You do not add yeast it, it ferments natuarally and rises due to the yeasts in the air.

You just mix flour with water and let it ferment. You feed it a bit more every day and it eventually starts smelling sort of sweet. A bit like rotten fruit ha.
You use this as a base and add loads more flour and let it prove and whack it in the oven.
The bread is quite solid and hard, and is more the type you have with butter purely for the taste. It does taste a bit sour and is really addictive!! |
